At Homeforkitty, we believe that moving into a new chapter of life shouldn’t mean saying a final goodbye to your best friend. For many seniors, their cat is their most constant companion, a source of quiet joy and steady comfort. Our mission is to ensure that even when your living situation changes, your cat’s quality of life remains exactly as you intended: full of love, safety, and dignity.

 

Why we started:

The idea for Homeforkitty was born from a simple realization: there was a missing piece in the senior transition process. While there are many resources for people moving into retirement living, there were far too few for the beloved pets they leave behind. We created this sanctuary to be that "missing piece"—a bridge between the home you shared and a future where your cat remains cherished in a private, domestic setting.

Our Philosophy:

We aren't a shelter; we are a second home. We operate on three core values:

Dignity in Aging: We specialize in the unique medical and emotional needs of senior felines.

Domestic Comfort: We maintain a "Home, Not a Cage" environment where sunspots, couches, and quiet corners are always available.

The Forever Commitment: Once a cat enters our care, they have a home with us for the rest of their natural life.
